Posouzení stavu lesů a principů lesního hospodářství v zemích na území Karpat
Sklář, Petr
This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the condition of forests and the principles of forest management in the countries of the Carpathian Mountains. The thesis describes the climatic conditions, historical development and natural conditions of the region. Furthermore, is described in detail the state and level of forest management in each country and the factors or negative phenomena causing the disappearance or degradation of forests. The thesis concludes with a comparison of the forest management of each country regarding the principles of sustainable management and identifies the risks and opportunities for forest management development. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the state and level of forest management in the countries of the Carpathian region and to offer opportunities for its further development.
Climatic settings of Carpathians' treelines
Klášterková, Hana ; Treml, Václav (advisor) ; Chuman, Tomáš (referee)
6 Climatic settings of Carpathians' treelines Abstract Alpine treeline ecotone is phenomenon widely studied around the world. Its shift to greater altitudes is connected mainly with climatic changes recently. However, many authors take into account changes in landuse as well. The aim of this thesis was to depict dynamics of treeline and factors influencing temperature metrics which delimitate advancing of the treeline to higher altitudes. For 6 sites within Carpathians were found the uppermost positions of treeline and several temperature metrics based on available meteorological data were calculated for these locations. Results of calculated thermal metrics revealed that treeline positions in most of the studied areas are situated at altitudes under their climatic limit. Varful Omu with TJUN-SEP = 7,1 řC was the only one location which meets the stated interval of minimal mean temperatures for growing season (Paulsen & Körner 2004) necessary for tree growth. This fact points out that treelines found within Carpathian Mts. are under pressure of other limiting factors than thermal ones. Persistent anthropogenic activities have a significant influence on treeline positions in some regions of Carpathian Mts. Altitudes of treeline stands are most negatively influenced by human activites in the Western and...
Changes in vegetation of Karpaty since glacial maximum - identificaition of main trends accesibility of data and gap in knowledge
Beranová, Jana ; Kuneš, Petr (advisor) ; Jamrichová, Eva (referee)
The Carpathian Mountains are great range in Europe. This rewiew is target to identify main evolution trends of vegetation i Carptahian Mountatins. I studied materials whitch was concetrate to pollen analysis and malacological finds. Based on this materials I found that in the stadial dryas periods there were climatic conditions for small forrest islands mainly formed from genus Pinus and Larix. In the interstadial periods the different climatic conditions permit forrest propagation and became denser. Transitions from pleistocen to holocen was nearly similar to the situation in interstadial period. But later in the holocene the density of the forest is growing more and dominant of late glacial forest was replaced mainly by the spurce. Population of plants that survive the glacial in the Carpathian mountain growing as same as and new species that survived glacial in warmer localities. In the subatlantic and especially in the few last decade the human efect is important and can be found in the pollen analysis. On the research of plant evolution in Carpathian mountain is necessary to continue, mainly on identification and analysis new localities. This large area is unequaly covered by localities.
The Harmonic Flute and Its Derivates in Carpathian Regions of the Czech Republic - an organological hologram
Šidlo Friedl, Marian ; Matoušek, Vlastislav (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Matěj (referee) ; Garaj, Bernard (referee)
AND KEYWORDS The dissertation The Harmonic Flute and Its Derivatives in the Carpathian Regions of the Czech Republic - an organological hologram contains the summary, analysis and syntheses of data obtained through the research of little-known instrumental kind in this area of the Czech Republic. Most of the data is published for the first time in this range. In three chapters - Harmonic flute, Tradition, Present - the musical instrument is viewed from many perspectives. The harmonic flute is displayed as a part of worldwide and Carpathian instrumentary; its acoustic and playing features are explained, archaic manufacturing methods are shown and the possible influence on musical thinking of the area is discussed. The theses also investigates the harmonic flute and its derivatives as disappeared musical instruments of the local traditional music and tries to map contemporary revival of its manufacturing and playing. The dissertation is based on analysis of written, audio and visual documents, comparisons, experimental reconstructions, empirical evaluation of objects in museums and private collections and interviews with informants. The theses includes an extensive photo documentation and a CD with audio samples discussed in the text. This theses was inspired by models formulated by...
Palaeoecological research of mountain lakes in the Carpathian Region: a review
Blechová, Magdalena ; Vondrák, Daniel (advisor) ; Hořická, Zuzana (referee)
The bachelor thesis is a review based on paleoecological research of mountain lakes in the Carpathian mountain region. The aim is to describe lake sediment archives and evaluate current studies and discuss possibilities of future research. This review of the current state of research suggests that there are many challenges and opportunities for future research in the Carpathians. The final part of this thesis is a list of lakes (potential objects of future analysis) with their parameters, including information about paleoecological analysis that have been done. Keywords: Carpathians, Paleoecology, Paleolimnological records, Multi-proxy approach, Mountain lakes.
